A bit about Valentines Day
Saint Valentine’s legacy paints him as a steward of romantic, forbidden, and selfless love. Legend has it that Saint Valentine ministered to Christians when Christianity was outlawed and performed illegal weddings in secret for Roman sodiers, who were forbidden to marry. When caught, he was tried and sentenced to death. While in prison awaiting execution he magically restored the sight of a blind girl, who was the daughter of the judge who had sentenced him. On the day of his execution he left the girl a handwritten letter. It was signed, “Your Valentine.”
Much of Valentine’s Day’s traditions and themes are summed up in this story of romance, self-sacrifice, generosity and the gifting of caring messages. Agreeing to be someone’s Valentine on Valentine’s Day means more than dinner and a movie, it means offering your undivided consideration and attention, at least for one day.

Tips for Printing
Print using a laser printer to prevent smudging when coloring, especially if you’ll be using wet mediums like ink, markers or paint rather than crayons or colored pencils. Consider printing on card stock rather than plain paper to prevent your pigments warping or bleeding through your pages.
